The Final Assembly, Integration and Test Hangar built for The Spaceship Company, sister company to Virgin Galactic, where the White Knight Two mothership and SpaceShipTwo came together for commercial space flight. Design-build, LEED Certified, and completed in ten months.
The build
A 56,640 SF hangar and 8,400 SF of office space off taxiway B at the Mojave Air & Space Port. The pre-engineered steel structure clears 246 by 236 feet with a 220-foot-wide, 30-foot-tall door opening. The entire structure is conditioned by a Daikin VRF heating and cooling system, which helped carry the building to LEED Certification.
